Freiluftschach im Innenhof des Museums
Leader+ EU Funding Programme The renovation of the old village hall, making it into the museum it is today, was made possible using monies from the Leader+ EU Funding Programme. Without this generous support from the European Community initiative, the village of Ströbeck wouldn’t have been able to afford such a comprehensive building project.
Kreissparkasse Halberstadt and the East German Sparkasse Foundation The Sparkasse bank also continues to support the chess museum with important modifications, e.g.: the new exhibition rooms.

Thank you so much!

We wish to thank everyone who has supported, and who continues to support, the village of Ströbeck’s chess traditions. This doesn’t just mean those who sponsor us with financial donations. We’re also talking about visitors to Ströbeck and the villagers themselves, who make items available to us for exhibition by lending them to us or by giving them to us as gifts.
